One of the Most Overrated Book of All Time No shades intended, but let's be real. E.L James is way overrated within the writing community. Just before we get into the details, I would like to specify that I did not spend my money on this book , but received it as a joke in a gift exchange last Christmas. Luckily for me and I would advise you to do the same: save your money. Some of you might be thinking: "But this isn't Fifty Shades of Grey , this seems like a different story. Maybe it's a spin-off?". The original first book of the series was in fact so popular that James decided to write the exact same plot... but through Christian's point of view. If you ask me, it only made it worse. The original book was hard enough to read, with the over the top, exaggerated story line and no creativity whatsoever on the characters' part.
